EUROPEAN UNION ORGANIC FARMING
Organic farming is a way of producing food that respects natural life cycles. It minimises the human impact on the environment and operates as naturally as possible. Quality is important to both producers and consumers. In the organic sector, this quality is guaranteed by the presence of the EU organic logo on the food label. It can only be used if the producer respects all the European rules on organic production including participation in an organic certification scheme that requires submitting to controls and annual inspections.
ITALIAN ASSOCIATION FOR ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
AIAB-APROBIO FVG is a non-profit association that was officially established in 1988. It brings together farmers, practitioners, experts, researchers and consumers and is organized in regional chapters (18) coordinated by a Federal Office located in Rome. AIAB promotes organic farming to producers and consumers as a model of rural development and, together with local administrations, supports the development of services to producers and consumers of organic products. The association promotes information on correct nutritional education.
ITALIAN SOCIETY FOR THE COELIAC DISEASE
AIC was founded in 1979 by a group of celiac disease (CD) patients. Since then, AIC has been endorsing health and social rights of CD patients, also achieving the promulgation of specific Laws (e.g., AIC obtained the recognition by the Italian National Health Service that gluten-free food represents a category of “food intended for particular nutritional uses”, the so-called “dietetic products”), and it has now expanded to 20 Regional Committees all over Italy.
The Italian Lactose Intolerant Society is a brand new organisation that helps people who suffer from lactose intolerance developing a balanced diet and reaching the correct diagnosis.
